Neue release: Umek - Novi Sad

Novi Sad (auf Deutsch "neue Plantage") ist die Hauptstadt der serbischen Provinz Vojvodina. Mit ihrer idealen Position an der Donau ist Novi Sad ein wirtschaftlicher Pfeiler von Serbien als auch ein Kulturzentrum. Frühe Siedler, größtenteils Händler, haben die meisten Wahrzeichen der Stadt erbaut, einschließlich der Petrovaradin fortress, die Kirche Maria Namen und einige eindrucksvolle Teile von Stari Grad (der Altstadt). Die heutigen Einwohner von Novi Sad halten noch immer an den Wurzeln ihrer Vorfahren fest und setzen die Stadt jedes Jahr mit ihrem bekannten Exit festival auf die Weltkulturkarte.

Eins der größten europäischen Freiluftfestivals begann als ein "Fick Dich" gegenüber dem repressiven Regime. Ähnlich wie bei Woodstock liegen die Wurzeln von Exit im Pazifismus und in Anti-Organisations-Bewegungen. Später wurde das Festival eine jährliche Angelegenheit, bei welchem junge Menschen aus aller Welt teilnehmen und auf welchem einige der größten Artisten wie Carl Cox, David Guetta, Massive Attack, Fatboy Slim, Moby und natürlich Umek zu Gast sind :)

Kein Wunder, dass die Stadt eine starke Bewegung der elektronischen Musik hat. Die Jungs von Respect DJs arbeiten Tag und Nacht um ihren Anhänger die neuesten Hits der Tanzmusikszene vorzustellen. Novi Sad wurde durch harte Arbeit die balkanische Hauptstadt der elektronischen Musik.
