Homeless in New York

26th December 2009 / Comments (0) / Views (1168)

I’m back in Slovenia after an amazing USA tour. The gig in El Paso was a great adventure and some of the people there really looked like they came straight from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Western style all the way.

Fortunately some of my Mexican fans managed to come to El Paso as the gig in Mexico City was later canceled due to snow storm at JFK airport. We were stuck in the plane at the airstrip and after four hours they finally let us out. But not the baggage, which flew to Mexico and is probably still somewhere at lost and found. The flight was so delayed that there was no chance for me getting there on time and I cannot stress enough how much I’m sorry I couldn’t be there. Not only that I’m sure it would be the best party, now I was suddenly homeless in the Big Apple with no clothes other the ones I had on. Not to even mention that New York looked pretty much like the north pole. It took me 10 hours to find a hotel and settle down.

On the flight back to Slovenia I had a pleasant conversation with the most altruistic person I have ever met – a woman who dedicated her life to saving others by donating bone marrow. Thumbs up for that kind of people!
