1605-087 : UMEK - Split EP
27th December 2011 / Comments (0) / Views (794)
The second biggest Croatian city lies by the Adriatic sea and is an important transport hub, reaching to the beautiful Dalmatian islands and Italy. It's a typical Dalmatian city with pleasant climate, hot summers, warm winters and pretty laid-back people who enjoy life, sun and the scent of the Adriatic.
The city reaches back to the Greek era, when it was called Aspalathos and later Spalatum under Romans, who also built the famous Diocletian's Palace. The Italians still call it Spalato, while the Croatians call it Split (like when you »split something in half).
The Croats are known as party people and Split isn't an exception when it comes to the club scene. With clubs like Kameleon, Masters, Imperium and Alien, tourists that bring in the most of Croatia's GDP, have a lot to choose from when deciding where to hunt for hot Croatian girls. The scene particularly comes alive during the busy summer and open-air beach parties are becoming more and more popular. This year's event of the year was David Guetta's performance at Žnjan beach in July, while last year the »Riva« hosted Carl Cox.
