new release : Gatex EP

On September 29th, Umek returns with the second release on his newly formed Sixteenofive imprint. This time it’s the turn of the label boss to step up with a track that was originally heard for the first time back in 2002.
Umek re-releases one of his best known compositions on his new label, backed with a thumping new remix from Fergie to boot. First up the original is an undeniable classic which since 2002 has been a staple in many leading players’ sets either as a stunning intro or a rest bite from the kick drums, as the haunting beat less melody weaves its way across the speakers. Fergie uses the melody to great effect teasing the audience with snippets laid across his dark percussion, with a sweeping bass which nicely compliments the eerie core of the track.
For the first month, the vinyl version of the track will be distributed exclusively by splinterproductions.net and the digital version will be exclusively available on beatport.com.
As Carl Cox put it: “Absolutely rocking, Fergie’s nailed it.”
