new release : Designed Persona
30th March 2009 / Comments (0) / Views (2167)
Originally set up in 1994, Christian Smith’s Tronic label holds a special place in techno circles. A leading force in shaping a less purist techno sound Tronic was amongst the first labels to embrace sounds from house and techno to create records that DJ’s from both scenes would play; and so it is with excited expectation that Tronic makes its return.
Internationally acclaimed as a DJ and producer, Slovenian superstar Umek has been seducing the masses with his own blend of techno for more than a decade. His releases on labels such as Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco, have defined the “Slovenian techno sound” and secured Umek’s position in the global club scene.
Designed Persona is classic Umek; a simple idea, expertly executed. Built around a pulsing siren noise and driven along at a keen pace by layers of shuffling beats this is high impact music for the main room. Watch out for the beast of a breakdown where Umek perfectly displays his keen appreciation of how to twist sounds for ultimate effect
Fresh from his recent success on Forensic/Cr2 with the Essential New Tune, Access The Future, and on the back of a stunning run of form including stand out cuts for Saved Records (Jets) and Sabotage (Renaissance) Andy Chatterley adds a beefed up tech house flavour to the original to create a powerful rolling groove with plenty of punch.
The release is already available @ beatport.com.
Tracklist:
1. Umek - Designed Persona (Original Mix)
2. Umek - Designed Persona (Andy Chatterley Remix)
