Umek’s music in Damian’s Room
During the shooting of a new documentary “Damian’s Room”, the music of DJ Umek played an important role. When the author of the movie came in the juvenile prison in Slovenia, she was surprised to distinguish between the ringing of the keys, the noise of the steps and the sudden racket, few sounds of Umek’s music, which would arise behind the closed doors.
The movie talks about Damian, a young boy from Slovenia, who spent some rough time in juvenile prison and who, with his friends, enthusiastically follows every step of DJ Umek, daydreaming about going to “Party with a Cause” and to mingle in the crowd of all those young people that Umek “lights up” with his music.
According to the author, the music of DJ Umek keeps the footprints of moments, she spent with Damian, alive.
You can watch a 10min clip from the movie here.
