How I made Jules Verne look like a girl scout

15th September 2010 / Comments (1) / Views (1167)

Those of you who listened at school, probably know Jules and his Around the world in 80 days. Well, 80 days would be a piece of cake, when you are a DJ. First I had a gig in Spain, a few days in my hometown of Ljubljana, then I flew to Seoul, Korea, continued to Tokyo, Japan, followed by Ibiza, Spain and now I'm waiting to fly to Germany and then Greece. While some people study geography, I *live* it.

Jetlag, turbulence and queueing aside, I still like my job. Flying gives me time to be creative. What else could I do on those day-long flights? Watch Snakes on a plane?

Luckily jets are equipped with electrical sockets and more and more often even internet, so I spend most of my time being completely unsociable, staring at my Mac and creating mock-ups of my new tracks.

Carl Cox once said it must be something in the water in Slovenia, since Slovenian producers make techno hits. But I think it's the airliner seat.

Sure, Jules Verne was one of my favourite writers, and I remember how fascinating his "80 days around the world" were. If your trips are like that, then you're a lucky man :D And if you are a true fan of J.V. you should try to look for inspirations sitting in a big bullet circling the Moon :D
