I still hate flying

I probably hold a Slovenian record in a number of flights since I fly at least twice every weekend. Still I pretty much hate everything about it and can't wait to the moment when geeks in CERN will come up with a working teleport. Although I can enjoy more comfort as most of the travellers, harvesting the advantages of having a gazillion miles on my Miles & More card, I would still rather ride a bike to a gig than fly in a jumbo jet.

I'm glad that airliners improved on the safety and in-flight comfort, bringing passengers lots of entertainment and sometimes even internet. But I wonder when they will come up with a system that will neutralize turbulence. Even after years of flying, it still creeps me out when a plane starts jumping around and although I know it's a routine thing, it still makes me want to put my head in a brace position. Especially last week when the pilot had to do a »go around« maneuver. It means that at around 15 meters from the ground during landing, the pilot goes full throttle, pulls up the yoke and goes for another try. Still better than crashing the ground, but it really rocks your stomach and scares the hell out of you.

If any of you work on a teleport in your garage, let me know. I'm willing to pay good money for it.
